Bringing People Together Through Food
A Community Kitchen Built Around Food, People & Connection
Hidden Beach Community Kitchen is a space in Hastings where food brings people together. Based at the Stade, we open our doors each weekend for shared cooking sessions where people come together to cook, create, and connect in a relaxed, welcoming environment.
Our approach is rooted in community. Through our Donate • Make • Deliver model, we turn small contributions into real impact — funding ingredients, preparing meals, and delivering them to individuals and groups facing financial difficulty or isolation, as well as organisations we want to show appreciation to for their service to the community.
We also host events at Stade Hall, bringing the space to life with food, music, and activities that create a proper shared experience.
Alongside this, we run small, hands-on workshops for up to 12 participants, offering a more focused setting to learn, develop skills, and spend time together.
We work with local chefs, volunteers, and residents to create something that feels open, inclusive, and meaningful. Whether you come to cook, take part, donate, or simply spend time with others, you are part of it.
This is more than a kitchen. It’s a shared space shaped by the people in it — where food becomes a way to gather, create, and support one another.
Reviews & Testimonials
What stood out for me was how open and inclusive it felt. No pressure, no expectations, just people cooking, talking and sharing food. It’s rare to find spaces like this where you can just turn up and feel part of it straight away.

I recently took my son to this zoo. We were very pleased! There are many beautiful birds.

I came down just to grab something to eat and ended up staying for a couple of hours. The atmosphere was really welcoming and relaxed. It didn’t feel like a service, more like being part of something. Really appreciated what’s being created here.

I actually learnt how to make patties here, which I never thought I’d be doing. It was hands-on, fun, and everyone was helping each other out. I left with food and a new skill, which felt great.

This got me out of the house and into something positive. It’s easy to stay in your own bubble, but this gave me a reason to come out, meet people and feel connected again. That’s more important than people realise.

The food was amazing, but what really stayed with me was the sense of community. You can see people genuinely care about what they’re doing here and who they’re doing it for. It feels real, not forced.

I came along curious, not really knowing what to expect, and ended up really enjoying it. Cooking together, chatting, and then sitting down to eat — it just works. It’s simple but powerful.

Well done Remi Vibesman. What you guys are doing is amazing x

Being part of cooking for others felt really meaningful. It wasn’t just about making food, it was about knowing it was going somewhere it was needed. That added a whole different layer to the experience.

You don’t often get the chance to be involved like this. Usually you’re either a customer or a volunteer, but here it feels like you’re just part of something shared. That balance is what makes it special.
